Is there evidence that coaching works?

Recent studies have been done to prove the efficacy of health coaching in multiple biomarker risk factors (including systolic and diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting glucose, body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, and cardiorespiratory fitness) for a diverse population.[1] 

Health coaching has also shown evidence to improve health-related quality of life and reduce hospital admissions in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.[2]
